Currently water and gas are off in the house and we have fresh tomatoes from the farmers market....Perfect time for the grill! 8/3/21 I cut them in half, olive oiled and herbed the sliced side. thru on grill for 2 min ish, then flipped them. oiled and salted. it was about 7-8 min ish. it will be ready to let its skin go. 8/4/21 made soup today...see notes below. 8/10/21 made again. This time tomatoes sat face down on grill for the whole time. Used wild rice again too!

🍅All-Purpose Grilled Tomato Soup

8/3/21 Grilled the tomatoes while waiting for whole chicken to air dry a little. easy. skins will release, smells divine.

8/4/21 I ended up using the tomatoes twice after they were grilled, before they became soup. Once with some mozzarella, basil, and olive oil on crostini. and once in our roasted chicken sandwiches today. so whatever was left, probably 4-5 tomatoes, was put in the VitaMix and pureed. I sauteed half an onion and a clove of garlic with butter. not hot but to soften. then i added the puree and about 3/4 c chicken stock. earlier, i put a wild rice blend in the instapot, using chicken stock. what normally takes 15 min for white, took 30 min and some rest for the blend. I added about 3/4 c of the wild rice to the soup..simmered for about 30 and added another 3/4 c stock. it was just getting too thick. anyway, it was fucking delicious. so damn good. I really prefer tomato soup with that bite of the wild rice. Made again 8/10/21
